The Progressive Era

Throughout history, there have been numerous instances where people have been thrown in jail, simply for expressing their voice. This "suppression" of free speech can be attributed to various reasons, often coming from political or social reasons.
During the authoritarian regime, speaking out against the government or its policies was seen as a threat to the ruling authority, for this, it was very common for individuals that spoke out their mind against the government to be arrested which gave the government control and by imprisoning's those who spoke out against the government, it would give fear to those who would protest or fight for freedom. Thankfully those days are in the past, but how much freedom do we really have if media can be controlled by the government to a certain level?

Usually, we do not hear about strong opinions such as antiwar voices on mainstream news, and there might be many reasons behind it. Often mainstream news outlets like to prioritize certain narratives and perspectives because they want to maintain a certain image to specific audiences. Firstly in order to understand why Anti war websites and voices might be something hard to find or not as easy to find as other sources we have to understand what anti war voices advocates for.

Antiwar voices vouches for peace, nonviolent conflict resolution, and the discontinuation of war as a mean of achieving political or social objectives. Usually these voices comes from individuals and organizations and are expressed through many ways such as articles, speeches and protests. Although normally they advocate for peace, in mainstream news, they are sometimes marginalized. Governments may be interested in suppressing or discredit antiwar voices in order to maintain the belief in the necessity of war, or to protect their own personal interests.
Due to this reason, it might be hard to find articles such as https://www.antiwar.com/ and https://www.theamericanconservative.com/ if you don't really know what you are looking for.
